Board Member positions and authority require Budo-Kai International membership review and approval, rank and school recognition, and testing. Budo-Kai International History
The original Budo-Kai Federation was founded in December of 1977 BY Sensei Thomas Haggerty of the Martial Arts Center located in Midwest City, Oklahoma, USA. The Budo-Kai Federation was recognized as a professional recognizing body by Judo-Kai international and immediately upon recognition, the Budo-Kai Federation began to help promote local Martial Arts businesses (after an in-depth and rigorous review) by recognizing the authenticity and professionalism of their schools, owners, and practitioners in their specific art to include all styles of; Karate, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Krav Maga, Kenpo, Kung Fu, and others. The authority and professionalism of the Budo-Kai Federation expounded and began to recognize schools outside of the borders of Oklahoma and eventually outside of the continental United States transforming the Budo-Kai Federation into what is now known as Budo-Kai International.
